ATTENDANCE –
Weekly attendance at classes is very important. If a
child is absent it is the parent’s responsibility to
call the Lifelong Faith Formation Office to inform us
of the absence. If you do not call, the volunteer
staff may call to check on the child.
It is very important also that students are punctual.
Latecomers are distracting for students and teachers
alike so please have your child here on time for each
class. The mood of the class is set in the first few
minutes of the class, and if your child is tardy the
entire class is disrupted at their entry and is often
the cause of an unsuccessful class. Perfect Attendance
Certificates are given at the end of each semester and
it is important that we know your child is here.
The Sacramental Preparation Policy
states that students must keep absences to a minimum.
A minimum is “3” unexcused absences a year for Life
Long Faith Formation classes. If a child misses a
Sacramental class it is their PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY
to talk to the teacher or come to the office and get a
copy of the lesson in order that the parents may teach
the lesson at home. If the absences from class are
excessive please talk to the director of life long
faith formation about circumstances surrounding the
absences and other arrangements may be made. Child’s
readiness for the celebration of each sacrament will
still need to be determined by the child, the parent,
who is the primary educator of his/her child and the
pastor or his delegate.
